    07/04/08 - Chicago!

We bid a fond farewell to Milwaukee and Madison and now reside in Chicago, Illinois. It's already pretty awesome.

06/10/08 - My Car is Completely Full of Crud

First off, we're playing NYC's Darkstar Festival in October and it should be fairly hot.

Second off, Soggy Potato Chips did an awesome ass remix of the old ass track, Devastator which you can download here.

03/21/08 - Hella Crazy Fan Shit

There's been some hella crazy fan shit coming in lately!

    1. Oh man, check this out: Big-Chef.com brings you Triple Shot Cupcakes. That is hot.

    2. Holy shit! Here's a quote from last week's front page of Real Synthetic Audio, the most listened to industrial net-radio show evar:

"OK, it's not very often that I fall in love with a band at first listen. But the entire idea behind "Mix this song into A23s Maps Of Reality" just kills me. I hear and shall obey." LEGIT. (3/10/2008)

    3. Comedy rap supastar, Sudden Death, starts 'em on the good stuff. I did a lol and a half.

    4. YouTube will show you the magic of the indomitable Art Paul Schlosser covering a 'sicles track at MarsCon '08. I shit eight ways when this happened.

    5. Also this guy, this guy and this guy.

    Thanks, all!

    03/19/08 - New Free Sort-of-Sicles Track!

The Gothsicles are responsible for the original concept, all the music and half the lyrics & vox on "Why Can't I Shoot the Dog?", the new track from comedy rap supastar, Sudden Death.

This track is currently available for free at the always awesome site, TheFump.com!

I recently got a copy of the new album this is on, Fatal Error, and it is so funny and good.

    2. "Only the second band on the bill, and yet The Gothsicles made a truly memorable appearance."
      - Ilker Yücel, Re:Gen Magazine (click to read more)

    10/01/07 - Kinda new track!
So after landing the opening set at this year's Infest, we were massively excited and largely in awe, and this mini-ditty (written partially on the plane 'cause of the crunch from Blacksun and GenCon) was the result.

09/16/07 - VF Magazine Issue #2 out now!
Vampire Freaks Magazine Issue #2 is finally out! I heard it was held up in customs or something. Anyway, in addition to being an awesome and surprisingly hilarious publication, I'm totally interviewed in this issue about my musical tastes at the time ('cause I'm kind of a big deal).

    ***Oh yeah.

09/16/07 - SVGM remaster out now!
I've been doing a lot of music on the "dementia" scene lately, all of which, for some reason, keeps clocking in at under two minutes. The newly remastered reissue of Worm Quartet's classic album "Stupid Video Game Music" features the first of such endeavors, a 'sicles of "Get a Real Dog".

    ***Check it.

    09/16/07 - Also Slimelight!
Crap, I almost forgot! Huge thanks to venue's management and staff and everyone who came out for our ultra last minute, seat of the pants style show at London's Slimelight! That was awesome!
    >Slimelight pics.

    09/16/07 - Thank you x 100,000
We owe appoximately one hundred thousand thank-yous after this recent three weekend block of big ol' festival type shows. Heaps of thanks to all of these promoters for having us.

Blacksun - Good lord. Big ups to the staff, the audience, the VF crew, and to our travel and stage companions, Stochastic Theory. There's a reason Blacksun is quickly becoming the nation's premiere goth/industrial festival. This was an intensely awesome event.
    > Blacksun Pictures are here.

Apophis Consortium - Annual complete GenCon equipment debacle (now four years running), but because of the staff at Radio Radio, the amazing support and patience of the audience, and the tech assistance from Cruciform Injection and Korporate Media, I think we may have finally broken the GenCon curse.
    > Buy Shadow Nations!

Infest - Ho-lee shit. I don't even know where to start. Amazing staff, amazing hospitality, supacool festival goers, and seriously stellar bands. Just an awesomely positive experience. Massive genuflections additionally lauded once again upon Caustic for having us as his backing band. Everyone in the UK is good looking.
    > Infest pictures are here.
    > And here is a video of me being an ass, c/o The Miss Jinny Show.
    > And check out this review on the BCC website!

08/03/07 - New track! (sort of)
"BACONspiracy", the new album by living parodesiac, The Great Luke Ski, features them 'sicles doing an ultra short cover his track "House Party at Arkham Asylum". Even though this track is like all of a minute long, I still think it turned out pretty good.

    ***Listen to samples here!

    07/16/07 - Earpicac out now!
TWO EXCLUSIVE NEW TRACKS are featured on the new comedy music compilation "Earpicac". One is the newly recorded version (featuring guest vox by Turbo Gothic 16 (aka Dan Clark of Stromkern and Null Device) of the cover of the theme from Perfect Strangers that we've been doing live for forever, and the other is a hot new chip tune entitled "Sacking Rome".

This is also like a fund raiser type thing for Con on the Cob.

    ***Check it out here.

07/16/07 - Sensuous Enemy Remix! Free download!
"Ffej" of Sonic Mainline labelmates, Sensuous Enemy, did a kick ass remix of Triple Shot which you can now download for free via The FuMP, aka The Funny Music Project.

    • 08/03/2007 - The font is not all large anymore.

      - THE FONT is not all large anymore. That was a really bad idea.

      - VF MAGAZINE APPEARANCES! Two issues! I'm totally interviewed in two consecutive issues of the popular VF Magazine. Pick up the one with KMFDM on the cover for a lengthy reivew of what I was listening to at the time and pick up the one with Ministry on the cover for the real "band interview" type interview.

      - NEW SHOWS!

        - 8/17/07 - GENCON AFTERPARTY IV in Indianapolis w/ Cesuim 137, Cruciform Injection and Erodecay!

        - 9/21 - w/ Gabber Nullification Project at Ground Zero in Minneapolis!

        - 9/30 - w/ Maggot Twat and The Lusties in Chicago at the Darkroom!

      - NEW TRACK! (sorta) "BACONspiracy", the new album from Dementia supastar, The Great Luke Ski, features a cover of his track "House Party at Arkham Asylum". It's all of like a minute and a half long, but I think it still turned out pretty okay.

      - BIG, FANCY SHOWS coming up soon

      05/31/2007 - PODULATE

      - San Francisco was intensely rad.

      - AUDIO INTERVIEW. Did some interivew styles for the Sneak Attack podcast after the SF show and you can listen to them by clicking here and checking out Episode 70, "The Gothsicles Aftermath" (even though it's listed as Episode 69 elsewhere on the page, but whatever). The interview occurs at about an hour and seventeen minutes into the podcast, so you may just want to download the file and skip ahead (although they really do play a lot of good music).

      - AUDIO REVIEW. The Reactor 4 podcast was there, too, and does a little review of the whole show (See Colin Slash / Caustic / 'Sicles) on their podcast, which you can hear here (ya know, if you wanted).

      - Pictures be here.

      2. DEATHKEY! - Just finished up a track for the awesome upcoming compilation entitled (appropriately) "SONGS IN THE KEY OF DEATH", along with C/A/T, Caustic, XP8, Terrorfakt and a whole bunch of other cool bands. Check out the MySpace here!

    • 11/14/2006 - Just a whole bunch of shit

      1. The Dane 101 show with Cervello Elettronico, Null Device and Black Clouds was awesome.

      2. New shows! - The first two shows of 2007 have been booked and they're both extremely kick-ass cons. The Gothsicles will bring the pain on the Friday nights of both MarsCon and OddCon!

      3. Three new album reviews, including one in Japanese. Check 'em out here, here and here.

      4. On 10/23/06, The Gothsicles were selected by The Isthmus, Madison's prime alternate paper, as the band of the day! Cool!

      5. FAN COMMUNITY! I got a MySpace message the other day informing me that a Gothsicles fan community now exists.

      6. iTUNES! "NESferatu" is now available on iTunes, up all in your internets.

      7. Just did a remix for Worm Quartet for his upcoming re-release of his classic first album.

      8. Labelmates Sensuous Enemy hooked my up with their remix of Triple Shot over the weekend. I don't know what I'm gonna do with it, but it's seriously rad.

    • 10/20/2006 - BELLYDANCE REVOLUTION

Now I might be biased, but nevertheless, I strongly believe that pretty girls bellydancing to Konami Code (III) is the best thing ever.

    • 10/17/2006 - Enumerate Annhilate Destroy

      1. The recent shows, GOTHtoberfest and Sound + Fury II (with Voltaire and Covenant/Rotersand/Imperative Reaction/Sensuous Enemy, respectively) were awesome and magical. Mega-thanks to the promoters, bands and attendees. Pictures will be posted shortly, but for now, check out the pics on :EYG:'s site, wherein we drunkenly bowl with the Skyshaper tour and I am kissed on the cheeck by Joakim.

      2. In further show news, EBM experimentalist extraordinaire CERVELLO ELETTRONICO has been added to the upcoming bill for the Dane101 Halloween show on October 25 in Madison, WI at the High Noon. Awesome.

      3. The Gothsicles are now on Wikipedia!

      4. Several new distributors have picked up the new album, NESferatu. CHECK IT.

      1. Lyrics for the new album are up!

      2. The Gothsicles are also featured on this week's episode of the comedy podcast "Manic Mondays"! Not only is the new track "I Can Tell You Shop At Hot(t) Topic" featured on the show, coverage of the wacky tale surrounding the delivery, *thievery*, and eventual recovery of NESferatu is played out in mini-sketch format, complete with the voice talents of The Great Luke Ski.

      3. Additionally, authorized 'Sicles music is featured in a new ad for Nerdcore: The Core Wars, which you can hear on this week's episode of Digital Strips. I'm pretty happy with this 'cause I like Nerdcore a lot.

    • 08/18/2006 - Funkyzeit.

      1) First off, supporting Caustic at Black Sun II was wonderful and amazing.

      2) GenCon was awesome as well, but a hair away from total disaster. Were it not for the efforts of several people, most especially the promoter and venue owner, we would have been completely sunk due to technical issues. We weren't though. It was all good. And by good, I mean rad as hell.

      3) Infotastic flyers are now up for the upcoming show in South Bend, IN, as well as ElectroPhest in Cleveland (which is not to discount the sure-to-be-awesome "Fashionista" in Milwaukee). Check all that out here.

      4) Sonic Mainline now has a livejournal community and a mailing list. They're both extremely sexy.

    • 07/25/2006 - Shanghai Madison Surprise

We did a surprise set at this year's Reverence Festival. We'd been planning it out for a while and I think it went over really well. Proof of our musikill sneak attack is here.

I think we got trumped though, 'cause the first night of the festival, Null Device did a surprise cover of the 'sicles track, Konami Code. The few functioning remnants of my brain basically exploded.

**NEW SHOW Location: Cleveland. Click here and scroll down. Stuff is still a little tba-flavored on this one, but judging by the bands that already confirmed, this show is something that you will not want to spill in your lap, as it will be ultra hot.

And speaking of hot, darkNES & :EYG: will be getting straight up solar as we support Caustic live this weekend at Black Sun II. Good lord, just look this band line-up.

    • 05/24/2006 - SIGNED!

      SIGNED!

It is an amazing privilege to be on a label with such wonderful acts. Damn.

      SONIC MAINLINE HOOOOO!

    • 05/11/2006 - Hey

      Sup?

    • 03/29/2006 - More Stuff/Things

    • I completely forgot to post this like a month or two ago because I am idiot, but Chicago's internet-famous DJ Pathogen did a goofy and wonderful remix of Devastator, available here.

    • Downloadable audio interview on the Manic Mondays podcast! Manic Mondays is a podcast done by Tom Rockwell of Sudden Death fame, who interviewed us at MarsCon 2006. Also in this episode are interviews with some A-1 acts, including Tom Smith, members of the former Nick Atoms, and Sudden Death and Worm Quartet interviewing each other. We are on Episode 49. Word.

    • We're on a new compilation entitled TECHNOBABBLE on FIDIM Interative, LLC and it's pretty sweet. If I didn't get a free copy for having a track on there, I would completely buy it with money.

    • Gothsicles ch00nz are now on Dementia Radio's random cast! Hollah!

    • 03/14/2006 - Mission From Mars

MarsCon was amazingly fun. All the bands were fantabulous and the people we met were good people. The Great Luke Ski does a pretty complete review here. More photos of our shit up here.

The flyer for the show on

      >>APRIL 7th AT THE KLINIC BAR<<

is available here. It was created by CTRLSHFT's Joe and Sensuous Enemy's Jeff. I think it is neat.

    • 01/31/2006 - Remixery Continued!

Hey, do you know what is awesome? In addition to doing the artwork for the album, Bogart Shwadchuck decided to be kooler than Jebus and toss in a remix, i.e. the first straight up "Epsilon Minus" track/remix/whatever in over a year. It should come as no surprise that this remix is fucking amazing. Like, damn.

    • 01/06/2006 - Remixery! Album News! MarsCon 2006!

First off, the Battery Cage remix of Konami Code is in, and oh man, bust out the sunblock 'cause this shit is radioactive hot.

Secondly, album progress is going swimmingly. Dan is very smart.

And finally, The Gothsicles have been invited to play at the 2006 MarsCon, appropriately themed "Things That Go Bump in the Night"! This annual Sci-Fi/General Nerdery convention has been a growing force for comedy music and the line-up this year is completely awesome:

      Sudden Death
      Worm Quartet
      The Gothsicles
      Carla Ulbrich

    • 7/18/2005 - Miscellany

      - Minneapolis was great! Thanks everybody!

      - New pictures, press and links are up.

      - The very old tracks "Devastator" and its German counterpart "Runzmattenweg" are back online.

      - Yavin 4 isn't playing the GenCon show anymore, which makes me a little sad. Filament 38 is playing it now though, which makes me extremely pumped to the maximum. (Click here for a completely sweet flyer)

      - Neuroverse (band I do live keys for) is playing on August 13th with DAS ICH, DISMANTLED and CYANOTIC. ALL AGES SHOW!

      - Oops.

    • 7/13/2005 - 'Uber Cool Kung Fu' Rhymes With 'Nicoderm CQ'

      - I just got back from Germany and totally forgot to post about a last minute show before I went, making it even more last minute. So yeah:

      JULY 16th in Minneapolis, MN
w/ Thosquanta, Avenpitch, The Gothsicles, Uber Cool Kung Fu, Severin 24
and DJs [space bar] and Matt Simmons

(I'm not allowed to show the address of the place, but just email me at darkNES at symbol gothsicles.com for the location. Music starts at 9)

      - Reverence 2005 was insane. Intensely huge thanks to Matt, Korporate Media, all the people I met from in and out of state, and all the bands, especially Cruciform Injection for helping us create Noonerschaft 2. Pics and reviews coming soon.

      - There was an upcoming show listed in our live section that showed us with The Dark Clan on August 31st. This has been cancellated until further notice.

    • 6/20/2005 - Twatsicle

      - I accidentally wrote over the last news update with an old news update. The one that got overwrote thanked David Schock for setting up the recent show in Chicago and MAGGOT TWAT for basically being the best band ever.

      - Some old tracks like Devastator or the Bloodankh remixes are still offline.

      - Reverence Day One is Friday at the Orpheum Stage Door in Madison, WI!!

    • 5/04/2005 - Thrills! Chills! HTML!

      - Cedar Rapids was like the Roaring Rapids ride at Great America but with all the water replaced by liquid awesome. Thanks to the audience, Emergence, Graven Image and especially Doug and Jason for setting the whole thing up.

      - REMASTERED! You can now get the much improved remastered version of Theme From "So You've Decided To Become a Goth" (mastering by Eric "Sex on Feet" Oehler of Null Device).

      - I don't know why it took me so long to plug it, but check out the new DJ :EYG: dot com!

      - A bunch of MP3s just went AWOL. Pardon my cyberdust whilst I recover them.

    • 4/19/2005 - Show Update Part 3

      - There's been a location change for the show in Cedar Rapids on the 28th of April. Check it out here (we're not from Kansas City).

      - Additionally, I heart (container) Nerdcore: The Core Wars.

    • 4/07/2005 - Show Update Part 2

      - REVERNCE III Day Two line-up (mostly) announced! HOLY CHRIST ON A CRACKER, LOOK AT THIS FUCKING LINEUP.

      - This website also plays a lot a little nicer with Firefox now, too.

      - June 24th: REVERNCE III Day One line-up announced! We'll be joining PTI CRUCIFORM INJECTION, ENDIF, and NEUROVERSE and DJ I. HALL of Boole for the first day of the awesomest festival ever. Day Two still TBA, but it's gonna rock you like two hurricanes.

    • 3/21/05 - Metal Up Your ASCII (+4 New Shows)

It's been a bit since the last news update, which is not to say that nothing's been happening, 'cause check this shit out:

METAL COVER! Dan Clark of The Dark Clan and Null Device (live) fame produced the initial Gothsicles version of this track and then decided to summon the darkest fuckin' spirits from like the billionth level of Hades to create a cover of said track by which to doom people. Please to be downloading:

The Dark Clan - Theme From 'So You've Decided To Become A Goth' (the I-listen-to-too-much-Nightwish version)

      But thaaaaat's not all!

      Summer Show Schedule Update:

    • 12/23/04 - I Just Ate Enough Chilli To Power Bartertown.

Here are some things listed in order of how exciting they are:

      1. New Audio! The Dr. Phloxicles got axed to write the song for the ending credits of a new indie film from NY's DJ Draven, entitled "So You've Decided To Become A Goth". The movie's not downloadable yet, but you can hear the song right here:

The Gothsicles - Theme From "So You've Decided To Become A Goth".mp3 (The lyrics won't make any sense 'cause they all reference the movie (the cameo from Hanzel und Gretyl(!!), for example. (Plus it's kinda quiet)). This track was also produced by The Dark Clan. Respek.

      2. We were asked to play the wedding reception for our friends Kate and Josh (Madison's DJ Whiterabbit). It was awesome and made all the more awesome by the fact that Mika of Beligium's rhythmic/power noise uberlords This Morn' Omina was DJing. Photos are here

      3. Gonna freeze all remix work and live shows until this EP is done.

      4. There are some coding problems with this website, mostly 'cause I write it in Notepad at work. If page contents aren't visible, just diddle with your mouse button or just click where the content should be.

      5. I got my hair chopped and it looks dumb.
    • 7/06/04 - HO. LEE. SHIT.

Gencon is the largest gaming convention in the North America... and The Gothsicles are playing the after party!!

    • 7/06/04 - Caustic and Effecstic

Just finished up a remix for the debut EP of Madison's 'Caustic' on Sonic Mainline Records (Deadbeat Productions). The disc should be out in time for Irreverence and will be mastered by Eric of Null Device fame, which I think is pretty neato.

    • 4/19/04 - Return of the Curse of The Gothsicles' Ghost

Dang and double dang. The two recent shows at Madison's Inferno and Cleveland's Phantasy were off-the-charts head-splodingly awesome. Hyperhuge thanks to Matt, Sigrid, Adam, Netherfabrik, Neuroverse, DJ Koob, DJ :EYG:, Pendragon Photography, and Apollo at the Inferno show and to DJ Nemeis of Nemesis Productions, Delien, John, Bob, Heidi, DJ WEiRD sKeTCH, DJane Gremlin, DJ Randy Man-Nix, DJ Sprite, Heretek, Oey, The 1 Design, Batty, Ash, the Chicago crew, and anyone else I more than likely forgot for making HTMF a super success on several counts.

    • 4/05/04 - PIGFUCKERY!

ATTN: The pigfucker dolphin clits at Unixhoster.com lost 100% of everything I had online here and apparently don't back anything up, so this page will be under re-construction for a bit. Please excuse HTML inconsistencies and so forth while I get my shit back together.

    • 7/05/03 - REEEEEEEEEEEEMIIIIIIIIIXXXXXXXXX!!!!
Once again, The Gothsicles remix the unfathomable Bloodankh, this time with Papa Al's new #1 hit, "TEH NOONERHOLE". (the 'remix' of which engages in admittedly massive copyright infringement)

As with all remixes, you should listen to the original first, but for Bloodankh, it's pretty much required. Check out TEH NOONERHOLE on the lj of Darquechylde. You'll also need to check out alister's other #1 hit, DARQUEBUTTE, as well. (Oh yeah, and Prince's "Pussy Control", too)

Bloodankh - TEH NOONERHOLE (Noonerhole Control mix by The Gothsicles).mp3

    • 4/05/03 - DISCLAIMER
      IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER RE: KONAMI CODE:

In the last like two months, I've had more people give me flak about copying other bands with respect to the Konami Code song. My version of Konami Code was done in 1998 for my first, albeit unlistenable, solo project and then the same song was updated for The Gothsicles, way before these other guys, so don't give us any lip, AIGHT?

    • 3/27/03 - Butteiful Death
Okay, here's what you gotta do:
      1) If you are already hip to darquechylde/bloodankh. skip to step 2

Otherwise, check out the livejournal of darquechylde, look at the homepage, then give a listen to Bloodankh's "Darkbutte".

      2. Once you've done that, and not a moment before, check out Bloodankh - Darkbutte (UndeadJournal mix by The Gothsicles).

      girl, you know it's true.

    • 3/03/03 - A Winner Is Us! ( + Remixification)
Won our deathmatch at Crackerbox.net! Eight more random geeks liked us than the other guy! Woo!

Also, Things Outside The Skin mix is done. Possibly remixing two more bands yet before going back to making more G'sics stuff. Or not. I don't know. Let's see what's on TV.

    • 1/02/03 - Things Inside My Softsynth
Remix for Thosquanta is done, now werking on 00ntzing up a track from Things Outside The Skin

    • 12/01/03 - Un-Undead
The Gothsicles are back for the attack with a brand new track! Check out KONAMI CODE!

DJ :EYG: is slated to spin at The Inferno's all female dj night "OVA-REACTION"

And the Thosquanta remix is underway, I swear...

    • 16/11/02 - Hammer & Gothsicle
We gots us an mp3.com site now (even though it still lists us as being from Freiburg and not from Madison). "Devastator" and a newer unrealesed track have been getting some club play at The Inferno (which is mostly cause we know the djs, but people were still dancin'). I heard "Sonic Boom!" was getting some club play in Chicago, but no club names have been discovered.

In any case, new tracks G'sics tracks are just on the horizon. Also currently trading remixes with Thosquanta and talking to Y-LUK-O about a possible collaboration!

    • 25/09/02 - New Audio Demo!
Constructicons! Merge to form a new Gothsicles track!

    • 23/09/02 - I'm with the DJ
The Gothsicles' own Mistress Sensoria Darkwave Bat Temptress is making her DJ debut at The Inferno as DJ :EYG:!!
      Information here. Come on out!!

    • 16/09/02 - Stuff and/or Things!
Our Mystral Tide mix is now available for download here.

      New reviews also posted!

    • 27/07/02 - New Audio Demo!
Just in time for GenCon comes a new Gothsicles demo tune, Sonic Boom!

    • 27/07/02 - Alles klar
      Resolution problems are fixed (kinda).

    • 26/07/02 - Home again, home again, jiggity jig.
The Gothsicles have now (mostly) relocated to America, with MSDWBT arriving from Bonn shortly. Is Wisconsin ready? Nopers.

We are also currently working on our entry for the Mystral Tide remix contest.

There are still some problems with viewing the site in any resolution besides 1024x768, but this shouldn't be a problem for much longer.

    • 24/06/02 - A WINNER IS US!!
The winners of the Freezepop remix contest have been chosen! A final winner was chosen, along with one favorite personal pick from each of the band members. THE PICK OF THE LEAD SINGER, LIZ ENTHUSIASM, WAS THE MIX DONE BY NONE OTHER THAN THE GOTHSICLES!. We are so freakin' excited right now we can hardly stand it. THANKS LIZ!!!

Our mix is available for download at their site, despite a minor misspelling on the mp3 (Goth-c-icles). Check it out along with the other highly cool contest winners!

    • 17/06/02 - New MP3 + German version of the site!
The first MP3 demo of The Gothsicles is now available. It's in German, but the English version will soon follow. Es gibt auch nun diese Seite auf Deutsch.

    • 15/05/02 - Site launched!
OKAY, HERE'S THE DEAL: You have found the underdeveloped electro-fetus that is our webpage. We didn't want to sumbit our entry for the Freezepop remix contest without a band page to go with it, so things have come out the oven a bit early, this page being the result. If you want, you can contact us for update information. And oh the update information there will be...

Deutsche version kommt auch bald. Hoffentlich koennen Sie in der Zwischenzeit Englisch lesen...
